Saturday Cycling and Bicycle Tours
Two activities for cyclists take place on Saturday, September 11. From 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., the roads within the San Jacinto State Historic Site will open early for bicyclists. No motorized vehicles will be allowed into the site during this time, to promote safe bicycling.
And at 10 a.m., a tour of the San Jacinto Battleground by bicycle will be led by site interpreters. Lasting 2 hours, the tour is free, and can be done by beginning cycliists as well as advanced ones of all ages. The route is mostly flat with two small hills, and is all on paved roads. Bring your bike, helmet, water, and sunblock, and meet on the road between the Monument and Reflection Pool. Note: this event will be cancelled in case of bad weather; it will reoccur monthly.< Back to News and Events
