Scenes From San Jacinto

Craft supplies are spread on a table in front of a child holding a crayon

On April 22, the day after the Battle of San Jacinto, Captain James Tarleton wrote a letter to his brothers describing the battlefield as “the most beautiful prairie, handsomely variegated with small groves of timber.” However, a lot has changed over the last 188 years. The San Jacinto visitors see today looks very different than the one where General Houston and General Santa Anna fought.

Bring the San Jacinto of 1836 back to life by making your own homemade diorama. We’ll provide the materials; you just need to bring your imagination.
