San Jancinto Museum of History

Special Evening With Texas History

Enjoy a rare evening visit to the San Jacinto Monument when you join us on Thursday, November 1, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for the San Jacinto Museum of History's 2018 Special Evening With Texas History. The event will honor Houstonian Dan Rather, whose reporting helped shape the world’s understanding of major historical events with his incisive coverage. He will be signing his latest book, What Unites Us: Reflections on Patriotism.

Experience the interactive new exhibit Big Energy: A Texas Tale of People Powering Progress. View the newly-conserved hand-drawn design for the San Jacinto Museum’s decorative frieze by noted sculptor William McVey. Ride to the Observation Floor for a spectacular nighttime view of downtown Houston and the Battleship Texas.

Dinner will be provided by City Kitchen. Reservations are required; contact Lynda Ybarra at 281.479.2421.
