Visit Us

Thursday, April 18: the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site and the San Jacinto Museum of History remain closed today, following the fire at ITC that began on Sunday, March 17, and associated clean-up of the chemical spill.  The museum and park closed shortly after the incident began, and have remained closed since that time.  The park will continue to be closed to visitors and staff while there is any concern about chemicals and safety in the park.   Please call to be sure the museum has reopened before visiting.

Just twenty minutes from downtown Houston, locals and out-of-towners alike can turn an afternoon daytrip into a trip back in time — at the San Jacinto Museum of History.

A battleship, a battle and some of the Gulf Coast’s best birding, whether you are entertaining guests, chaperoning a fieldtrip or just spending time with your family, a visit to the museum is an experience to remember.
