SPARK! Revolutionary Flag Making

Three flags fly against a blue sky - one makred 1824, one with a bloody arm and sword, one the San Jacinto battle flag.

PARTICIPANTS IN THE TEXAS REVOLUTION created a variety of flags in order to reporesent themselve and send messages about their goals for revolution.  In this SPARK! session, participants will discuss and view flags of the revolution, using both artifacts of the San Jacinto Museum and materials pulled from the museum's archives.  They'll also get to create a flag of their own to take home.

SPARK! is a free program for caregivers and loved ones experiencing beginning to mid-stage Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of memory loss. SPARK! programs feature interactive experiences in a welcoming environment. Specially-trained museum educators engage participants in lively discussions, artmaking, encountering museum artifacts, and other multi-sensory activities.

Registration is FREE to the public and is required prior to participation. All registrations must be received at least one day in advance of selected programs.
