Description
Ironstone hospitality bowl. Footed bowl with purple and gold trim. Lettered in gold on side of bowl "Tom & Jerry". Black hallmark stamped on bottom "IRON STONE CHINA... KNOWLES, TAYLOR, AND KNOWLES".
Provenance
Part of the bridal china of Catherine Fulkerson Ross, wife of Captain Shapley Prince Ross. They came to Texas in 1838, settling at Cameron and then Austin. In 1844 moved to the new Waco settlement. Capt. Ross was a Texas Ranger and father of Lawrence Sullivan Ross.
