Provenance
The brick was found by a priest in the remains of Mission San Rosario. Information about the mission and ruins was located at www.goliad.org: "Mission Nuestra Seņora del Rosario was founded in 1754 by Franciscan missionaries from the College of Zacatecas in Mexico in an attempt to settle the Karankawa Indians who had abandoned the first Espiritu Santo mission. The Rosario ruins are located about four miles west of Goliad State Historical Park headquarters and six miles west of the city off U.S. Highway 59."
