Compote. China transferware. Blue on white. Texian Campaignware. "General Taylor in Texas." Two handles. Repeated border pattern with Ceres and war trophies to rim, outside of bowl, and foot. Central scene of two mounted officers, three foot soldiers, and an injured horse. Background has a carriage and more troops. No hallmark. "4" on reverse.
Probably by James Beech (1770-1854) at the Lion Works. Also, possibly by Thomas Walker (1823-1852), his son-in-law.
