Description
Sword belt (a). Gold braid backed with maroon leather. Buckle of two interlocking brass plates. Buckle forms a circle trimmed with leaves and berries with a silver five-pointed star set in the center. Second buckle component on one end for adjusting the length of the belt. Two brass chains (b-c) attached to the belt with hooks. Each chain is quadruple link and ends in a clip hook to attach to scabbard carrying rings.
Provenance
Part of the Texas Army Uniform of Thomas Jefferson Chambers (1802-1865). Chambers was the donor's grandfather.
