CRAWFORD, JOHN B. - In Headright Certificate No. 363 issued to him February 8, 1838 for one-third of a league of land by the Board of Land Commissioners it is stated that Mr. Carwford arrived in Texas in January, 1836. On page _______of the army rolls in the General Land Office he is shown as having enlisted in the Volunteer Auxillary Corps at Nacogdoches, January 14, 1836. He is shown as having been born in South Carolina in 1814.

Mr. Crawford was a member of Captain Peyton R. Splane’s Company. He was issued Donation Certificate No. 1241 for 640 Acres of land January 14, 1846 for having been detailed to guard the baggage at the camp opposite Harrisburg on April 21, 1836.
