ALLPHIN, RANSOM – Arrived in Texas in November, 1834, as is stated in Headright Certificate No. 294 for one labor of land issued to him March 6, 1838 by the Board of Land Commissioners for Montgomery County. In Comptrollers Military Service Record No. 626 it is certified that he served in the army from March 12, to June 12, 1836. On page 44 of the army rolls in the General Land Office, Mr. Allphin’ is listed as a member of Captain William Ware’s Company.

Mr. Allphin was issued Donation Certificate No. 254 for 640 acres of land May 29, 1838 for having been detailed to guard the camp opposite Harrisburg, April 21, 1836. He was living in Waller County, January 5, 1848 when he sold the certificate to Gibson Russell for $50.00. On March 24, 1851 he was living in Waller County with his wife, Elizabeth Allphin.
Mr. Herbert G. Allphin who resides at 1426 Ohio Street, Lawrence, Kansas is a _______ of Ransom Allphin.
ALPHIN, RANSOM – Received title to one league of land in Vehlein’s Colony May 22, 1 835 situated in the present counties of Madison.
