WHITE, LEVI-- Came to Texas in January, 1836, as is stated in Headright Certificate No. 8 issued to him by the Houston County Board for one-third of a league of land, February 3, 1838. He was issued Bounty Certificate No. 3500 for 640 acres of land May 22, 1838 for serving in the army from March 10 to December 10, 1836. He was a member of Captain Benjamin F. Bryant's Company at San Jacinto and on May 14, 1855 he was issued Donation Certificate No. 697 for 640 acres of land for having participated in the battle.

Mr. White was living in Houston County June 2, 1855 when he sold his Donation Certificate to A.T. Monroe for $500.00.
