THREADGILL, JOSHUA -- Arrived in Texas in January 1836, as is stated in Headright Certificate No. 202 issued to him November 8, 1842 by the Matagorda County Board of Land Commissioners for one-third of a league of land.

Mr. Threadgill was a member of Captain Robert J. Calder's Brazoria Company at San Jacinto and on September 25, 1838 he was issued Donation Certificate No. 556 for having participated in the battle. On December 3, 1838 he received Bounty Certificate No. 4484 for 320 acres of land for his services in the army from February 23 to May 28, 1836.

On page 61 of the army rolls in the General Land Office Mr. Threadgill is shown as a member of Captain Thomas Stewart's Matagorda Company, July 15, 1836. On April 9, 1840 he was issued Bounty Certificate No. 9507 for 320 acres of land for having served in the army from June 13 to September 13, 1836.

By tracing Mr. Threadgill's movements by the deed records of several counties, he was found to be living in Matagorda County in 1841 and in Caldwell County in 1849. In the Probate Records of Gonzales County, he is shown as having died in that County in 1853. A. H. Jones was appointed administrator of his estate December 28, 1853.
