BENNETT, WILLIAM -- The compiler does not know when Mr. Bennett came to Texas since he did not apply for a Headright Certificate. He was a member of Captain Thomas H. McIntire's Company. On January 23, 1838 he was issued Bounty Certificate No. 2041 for 640 acres of land for having served in the army from January 26 to July 26, 1836.

Mr. Bennett probably left Texas shortly after being discharged from the army since he did not apply for the Donation Certificate for land for having participated in the battle of San Jacinto. Donation certificates were at that time non transferable.
