MILLER, WILLIAM H. -- Born in Mayfield, Mason County, Kentucky, in 1811. He was 5 feet 5 inches high; of dark complexion; blue eyes and black hair, and was a farmer by occupation. He was enlisted by Captain Joseph P. Lynch March 1, 1836, at the home of Asa Mitchell. The foregoing information is found on an original muster roll of Captain William W. Hill's Company. Mr. Miller was Fourth Sergeant in Captain Hill's Company. His San Jacinto Donation Certificate No. 898 for 640 acres of land was issued May 18, 1839. He stated in applying for a Headright Certificate for one-third of a league of land from the Fort Bend County Board June 7, 1838 that he came to Texas in 1834. He was living in Washington County.

Mr. Miller died in Washington County in 1856. His widow Mrs. Polena Miller was appointed administratrix of his estate May 5, 1856, as is shown in Book D, page 72, Probate Minutes of Washington County.
