HENDERSON, ROBERT -- Arrived in Texas at some time between May 2, 1835 and March 2, 1836. In the Headright Certificate issued in Mr. Henderson's name February 1, 1833 for one third of a league of land by the Victoria County Board of Land Commissioners and delivered to Pinckney Caldwell, Administrator of his estate, it is stated that he came to Texas prior to March 2, 1836. Had he arrived before May 2, 1835 this would have been so stated in the certificate.

When Major Caldwell appeared before the Victoria County Board he signed an affidavit that Mr. Henderson had died at the camp at Victoria, July 20, 1836, while serving in the army.

Mr. Henderson was a member of Captain Henry Teal's Company at San Jacinto but the administrator of his estate did not apply for the donation land due him for having participated in the battle. Neither did he apply for the bounty land due him for his services in the army.

On page 131 of the army rolls in the General land Office Mr. Henderson is shown as a member of Captain Teal's Company June 20, 1836 and as having enlisted in the army February 18, 1836, for the duration of the war. Following his name is the notation: "Accidently wounded and left at Navidad."
