HARRISON, A. L. -- In the Headright Certificate for one-third of a league of land issued to Mr. Harrison February 2, 1838 by the Board of Land Commissioners for Montgomery County it is stated that he arrived in Texas January 1, 1836. He was second lieutenant in Captain James Gillaspie's Company at San Jacinto and on May 3, 1838 Donation Certificate No. 73 for 640 acres of land was issued to him for having participated in the battle. He was issued Bounty Certificate No. 862 for 320 acres of land December 9, 1837 for having served in the army from December 1, 1835, to March 1, 1836.
