HALSTEAD, E. B. -- The name E. B. Halsey appears on page 6 of the army rolls in the General Land Office as a member of Captain William A. 0. Wadsworth's Company which arrived at Velasco on December 20, 1835 and served under Fannin in 1836. Following his name is the notation: "Left." This means that he left the Company prior to February 29, 1836 when the company was mustered.

The name E. B. Halstead is listed on page 14 of the San Jacinto rolls printed in 1836 as a member of Captain Robert J. Calder's Company. The compiler believes E. B. Halsey and E. B. Halstead to be one and the same. No one by the name of Halstead or Halsey received either headright, bounty, or donation land certificates.
