DAVIS, TRAVIS -- Came to Texas prior to May 2, 1835, as is stated in the Headright Certificate issued to Thomas K. Davis, administrator of his estate, for one-third of a league of land by the Brazoria County Board. His heirs were issued Bounty Certificate No. 3652 for 320 acres of land June 5, 1838, for his services in the army from September 28 to December 23, 1835. On June 1, 1838, they received Donation Certificate No. 262 for 640 acres of land due Mr. Davis for having participated in the Storming and Capture of Bexar December 5 to 10, 1835. In Service Record No. 782 it is certified that he served in the army on Captain Jacob Eberly's Company, Captain Thomas H. McIntire's Company and Captain Basil G. Ijams' Company from March 14 to May, 30, 1836, and that he was a member of Captain Byrd Lockhart's Company when discharged 16, 1836, at Coleto.

In the Court of Claims files in the General Land Office it is shown that Mr. Davis died in Brazoria County in 1837 and that on March 25, 1861, his sister Laura A. Davis of Brazoria County was his only surviving heir. She was the wife of Thomas K. Davis.
