Description
Masonic apron. White satin apron trimmed with light blue and pink pleating (faded, discolored). Lined with white muslin. Stamped with a number of masonic symbols, including pillars with globes at center, and various tools of the craft. Designs - two shades of blue with colors of red and gold. Fair condition, portions or trim missing or discolored. Tears and folds - trim. Moderate wrinkling. Negligible holes (insect damage?).
Provenance
Original catalog card notes, "used by Dr. Moses Richard Denman, father-in-law of the donor, from 1843 to 1892. Dr. Denman studied medicine at Tulane University and practiced at Galveston and Columbus, Texas after the Civil War. He moved to Luling, Texas after he was married and then to Wrightsboro, Texas in Gonzales County."
