San Jancinto Museum of History

Museum Closed for Thanksgiving Holiday

Some historians debate when the first Thanksiving Day occured.  Whether you promote San Augustine, Florida, San Elizario, Texas, Jamestown, Virginia, or Plymouth, Massachusetts, as the location of the first Thanksgiving in the United States, the official date since 1941 has been the fourth Thursday in November.

In honor of the national holiday of Thanksgiving, the San Jacinto Museum of History will be closed on November 26, 2015.  The museum will be open on Wednesday before the holiday, and on Friday the 27th and throughout the weekend following, during the regular hours of 9 am to 6 pm.
