San Jacinto is more than just a battlefield; it’s also home to more than 200 species of birds. Join us on Saturday, December 4 for a bird walk and presentation with Jim Stevenson of the Galveston Ornithological Society. Jim is a professional bird guide, ornithology professor and author of numerous books, including Birds of the Gulf Coast.

The program will consist of presentation on migratory birds that pass through the upper Texas coast, a guided bird walk on our marsh boardwalk. Jim will also be signing copies of his most recent book, Birds of the Gulf Coast.

Meet at the San Jacinto Monument before heading out for a half mile walk on the marsh boardwalk.  This event is planned for adults, and is free; however, reservations are required as space is limited.

Note: The bird walk will be cancelled in case of heavy rain.
