Just twenty minutes from downtown Houston, locals and out-of-towners alike can turn an afternoon daytrip into a trip back in time — at the San Jacinto Museum of History.
A battleship, a battle and some of the Gulf Coast’s best birding, whether you are entertaining guests, chaperoning a fieldtrip or just spending time with your family, a visit to the museum is an experience to remember.
March 23-24, 2017: Due to a downed electrical pole and related transformer issue, the phone lines into the Museum are not currently working. Because the building is running on a backup generator for power, the elevator will not be used to take visitors to the Observation Floor. Also, please make plans to see Texas Forever!! The Battle of San Jacinto on another day, as the theatre will not be projecting. The exhibit gallery and special exhibit area are open. Thank you for your patience until full power is restored to the building.
Whether its a quick trip or a full day, the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site offers plenty to see and do.
