Battlefield

Then and Now

THIS INTERACTIVE MAP shows the battlefield as it appears today overlayed with an illustrated interpretation of the site as it appeared on April 26, 1836.

Use the opacity adjustment sliders on the map below to travel seamlessly back and forth between the two. The markers reveal additional information on the position and movement of commanders and troops, and some correspond to the physical markers on the battleground that were raised by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas (DRT). Battle-related markers of the Texas Historical Commission (THC) are also shown on the map.
