Houston Landmarks, Now & Then?

New York has the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. Seattle has the Space Needle. Chicago has four of the tallest buildings in the World including the John Hancock Center. Houston has... well, the city has a number of architectural gems and iconic landscapes, but many of them are difficult to pick out in the cityscape. Many important buildings and structures such as the Gulf Building (now the J. P. Morgan Chase Building) and the Esperson building are dwarfed by skyscrapers that— while distnctive—do not capture the mind like other, better known structures in other cities. This case takes a look at some of the buildings and landmarks that give Houston its unique character.
