Description

Brooch. Round gold frame brooch (a). Has decorative rope edging. 4 clasps press down to hold in interior picture frame. Photograph (possibly an ambrotype) of Henry Hoyt Russell (b) in base metal circle. Pin fastener at back.


Provenance

Henry Hoyt Russell was the son of Robert B. Russell, a veteran of the Battle of San Jacinto. Henry Hoyt Russell was a member of the 4th Texas Cavalry, Co. B, Lane's Company, Green's Brigade, in the Civil War.
