Description

Martingale; dark leather with large silver center emblem containing a five-pointed star in the design; bifurcated front straps trimmed with six six-pointed silver stars; ring at the end of one of the straps made of wood and brass and painted blue and white.


Provenance

Belonged to Mexican President Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna and was auctioned to Sidney Sherman following the Battle of San Jacinto.
