Description

Doll (a). Lady. Bisque head, arms, and leg. One leg has been replaced with wooden leg. Painted face with blue eyes, blonde hair, and purple tiara. Black shoes painted on. Also wearing light brown dress with tan lace and beaded trim (b), white cotton slip (c), and white cotton bloomers (d). Clothes may not be original.


Provenance

Wooden leg made by donor's brother. The doll originally belonged to Miss Emmie Cornitius, aunt of the donor. It was bought for her as a gift in Germany when she was six. The donor's grandfather came to Texas in 1846 and settled near Brenham.
