Description

Child's handmade slat-back chair. Unstained wooden frame. Two slightly curved slats on back. Four round rungs between legs. Original cowhide seat (hair visible in places) attached to frame with rawhide strips beneath seat.


Provenance

This chair was given by Sam Houston to Nicolas Randolph, who presented it to his eldest son, Budd Alfred Randolph. After Alfred Budd Randolph's death, his wife gave the chair to the donor, Mrs. Montie Beach.
