Description

Derringer percussion pistol. Cap and ball. .41 caliber. Walnut stock. Brass fittings engraved with acanthus leaf design. "DERINGER PHILADELPHIA" on lock plate and barrel. Cross-hatching on stock.


Provenance

Belonged to Robert B. Russell (b. 1817 near Utica, New York), veteran of San Jacinto. Donors are children of Henry Hoyt Russell, one of eight children of Robert B. Russell.
