Old West - Lobby Exhibit

The American Old West is comprised of the history, geography, peoples, lore, and culture of the people living in the western United States from the early 19th century to the end of the Mexican Revolution in 1920.  As the American Old West passed into history, the myths of the West took firm hold in the imagination of Americans and foreigners alike.

The lobby exhibit opening on January 27, 2010, looks at the "hardware" (guns, rifles, bullets, powder flasks, spurs, etc.) of the era, and  uses art and literature about the Old West to show how the facts were depicted in fiction.
