MOORE, ROBERT -- arrived at Velasco, January 28, 1836 on the schooner Pennsylvania, having been recruited in New Orleans for the army of Texas by Captain Amasa Turner. In the Headright Certificate issued to him in 1838 for one-third of a league of land by the Harrisburg County Board it is stated that Mr. Moore arrived in Texas in January, 1836. He was issued Bounty Certificate No. 366 for 1280 acres of land for having served in the army from February 13, 1836 to November 27, 1837. He was a corporal in Captain Amasa Turner's Company at San Jacinto and on May 15, 1838 he received Donation Certificate No. 79 for 640 acres of land for having participated in the battle.
Mr. Moore was living in Washington County May 24, 1856 when he made application for a duplicate Headright Certificate, having lost the one issued to him in 1838. The duplicate was issued March 17, 1857.
The Probate Records of Washington County disclose that Mr. Moore died in that county in 1866. His widow, Mrs. Ivey Moore, was appointed administratrix of his estate July 9, 1866.
