The Kemp Sketch (What is this?) | Download the original typescript

ALLISON, MOSES -- In applying for a Headright Certificate from the Brazoria County Board, January 25, 1838, for one-third of a league of land, Mr. Allison stated that he had come to Texas in the year 1834. He was a member of Captain John York's company in 1835 and on June 4, 1838, received Donation Certificate No, 280 for 6CO acres of land for having participated in the Storming of Bexar December 5 to 10, 1835. At San Jacinto he served in Captain Thomas B. McIntire's company.

The Probate Records of Brazoria County show that Mr. Allison died in that county prior to May 25, 1846, at which time James Allison was appointed administrator of his estate.

Written by Louis W. Kemp, between 1930 and 1952. Please note that typographical and factual errors have not been corrected from the original sketches. The biographies have been scanned from the original typescripts, a process that sometimes allows for mistakes in the new text. Researchers should verify the accuracy of the texts' contents through other sources before quoting in publications. Additional information on the veteran may be available in the Herzstein Library.
