HENDERSON, HUGH -- Came to Texas in 1835, as is stated in the Headright Certificate issued to him February 2, 1838, for one-third of a league of land by the Montgomery County Board. He was a member of Captain William H. Smith's Company at San Jacinto and on January 2, 1839, he was issued Donation Certificate No. 728 for 640 acres of land for having participated in the battle.

The Probate Records of Anderson County show that Mr. Henderson died in that county October 10, 1847. Benjamin Cannon was appointed administrator of his estate.
