DAVEY, THOMAS P. -- Born in England in 1809. He arrived in Texas February 8, 1833, as is shown in the Headright Certificate issued to him by the Montgomery County Board for one-third of a league of land, May 17, 1838.

Mr. Davey was issued Donation Certificate No. 837 for 640 acres of land, March 25, 1839 for having participated in the Storming and Capture of Bexar, December 5 to 10, 1835. He was a member of Captain Jesse Billingsley's Company of "Mina Volunteers" at San Jacinto. In Service Record No. 1027 it is stated that he served in the army from February 25, to June 1, 1836. Muster rolls in the General Land Office show him as a member of Captain Benjamin F. Reavill's Company July 1, 1836.

Mr. And Mrs. Davey were living in Walker County in 1847. Mr. Davey was a member of the Texas Veteran's Association and he and his wife were living in Smith County in 1875. When and where he died has not been ascertained. His widow, Mrs. Nancy E. Davey was living in Henderson County, November 28, 1881 when she sold her Veterans Donation Certificate for 1280 acres of land for $300.
