Listed on page 22 of the army rolls in the General Land Office as James Nash, a member of Captain Chesshire's Company before Bexar in 1835. On page 1 of the rolls James Nash in shown as having enlisted in Captain Byrd Lockhart's Company February 23, 1536.

No. 32 This Certificate $17.56/100 entitles J. H. Nash to Seventeen 56/100 dollars, for Two months and six days service, from March 23rd 1836 until May 28th 1836 in Capt Karnes' Company 1836.
