ABBOTT, LANCELOT - Name omitted from the Harrisburg camp roll. He was born in England and arrived in Texas January 4, 1835 with his wife and two children. He was issued Bounty Certificate No.2187 for 640 acres Janaury 30, 1838 for having served in the army from February 20 to September 1, 1836. On February 9, 1841 he received Donation Certificate No. 1133 for 640 acres of land for having been detailed to guard the camp opposite Harrisburg April 21, 1836. Mr. Abbott resided for a number of years in Fayette County. He was a printer by trade. He was a member of the Texas Veterans Association and in 1889 was living at Abbott’s Road, King’s Heath, Birmingham, England. Written by Louis W. Kemp, between 1930 and 1952.
