The San Jacinto Museum of History is a rich depository of resources for the study of the Republic of Texas, early Texas statehood and politics, and Native Americans in Texas.  Other focuses of the collection include the Mexican War, the War Between the States, the Spanish-American War, the American West, early American art and culture, and the history of Mexico, Spain, France, and Latin America.

The Albert and Ethel Herzstein Library boasts more rare books per square foot than the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C., and its books, maps, manuscripts and collections are available for your next research project.  The library's collections are non-circulating, but may be used in the library.
