Creator Sketch:

Franz W. Zeiske was born on August 19, 1908.  He served on the Texas Legislature representing Bellville in Austin County from 1951 to 1953.  Zeiske was also the owner and editor of the Bellville Times newspaper and was associated with the Austin County Publishing Company.  He died on January 30, 1987.

Scope and Content Note:

The Zeiske collection is comprised of three items relating to Texas ans specifically Bellville, Texas, during the late 1800s to early 1900s.  The first is a statement issued by W. A. Trenckmann, publisher of the Bellville Wochenblatt, in 1894 stating payment was received.  Also included is a 42-page guide book issued by the Woman's Auxiliary to the Baptist Missionary and Educational Convention of Texas.  There is also a photograph featuring future Governor Pat Neff and Mexican delegates at a meeting in McAllen, Texas.
