Creator Sketch:

Michael C. Munlin served in the 21st Regiment Engineers (L. R.), United States Army, in France during World War I.  He returned to the United States in May 1919.

Scope and Content Note:

Military documents, a postcard and souvenir pamphlet from the troop ship S. S. Grant, and a map of Alsace-Lorraine document the military service of Michael C. Munlin with the 21st Engineers (L. R.) in France (1918 – 1919).  The documents include Munlin’s identity card, papers concerned with his leave in January 1919, and his pay record book.
