J. C. Heaton and Brother, Druggists, sold kerosene, window glass, sewing machines, stationery, wallpaper and fancy goods in addition to filling prescriptions for their customers.  Brothers Lorenzo Don, John C. and David Henry Heaton were born in Potsdam, New York. In 1854 they emigrated to Texas and conducted business in Indianola before moving to Victoria. The brothers filled prescriptions concurrently in Victoria and Port Lavaca in 1870.  After establishing a secure clientele in Victoria, they opened another branch of the drug store in Cuero that was managed by David.  Harding and Parker Drug Store succeeded J.
