Scope and Content Note:

Fourteen legal documents including land deeds, deeds of trust, and releases recording land ownership in the city of Houston from 1848 to 1885, were collected by Judge W. P. Hamblen and donated to the San Jacinto Museum of History in 1961.  The documents are arranged by grantors and grantees:  John Achenback, A. C. Baker, James T. Capron, James Cocks, and Charles J. Grainger.
