BURDITT, NEWELL W. - Name not shown on the San Jacinto rolls printed in 1836. In comptroller’s Military Service Record No. 4655 it is certified that he served in Captain William Kimbro’s company from March 15 to June 15, 1836. He was issued Donation Certificate No. 463 for 640 acres of land by adjutant General James S. Gillett December 6, 1852 for “having ordered by Captain William Kimbro to remain at camp at Harrisburg on the 21st April 1836.”

In Travis County on December 6, 1852 sold to Joel L. Ankrim for $110. “My Donation Land Warrant for Six Hundred and forty acres of Land issued by the Adjutant General of the State of Texas to me for Services rendered at the Camp at Harrisburg on the 21st of April 1836.”(File No. 1125 Bexar Donation, General Land Office.)
Mr. Burditt was born in Giles County, Tennessee, a son of Jesse and Mildred Burditt. The Probate Records of Travis County show that Mr. Burditt died in that county December 6, 1856. He was married to Missouri Parker.
Children of Newell W. Burditt were 1. William, 2. Thomas Parker, 3. Newell, 4. Mildren and 5. Kate Burditt.
1. William Burditt was never married. He died in Virginia while in the Confederate Army.
2. Thomas Parker Burditt was married to Alice Eanes, daughter of James Eanes of Amelia County, Virginia. Their children were (a) Alma (b) Eula Burditt.
(a) Alma Burditt was married to Frederick Anthony Heep. They had two son, Boone H., who married Zoe Cage of Blanco City, and Herman Fred Heep, Herman Fred Heep was married to Harriet Lopez. Their daughter, Mary Lou Heep, lives in Houston.
(b) Eula Burditt was married to James Phillips of Austin. They had one son, Thomas Phillips.
Mrs. Alma Heep, Buda, Texas is a descendant of Newell W. Burditt.
