MILLER, JOSEPH -- Listed on page 13 of the San Jacinto rolls printed in 1836 and on page 34 of the General Land Office San Jacinto rolls as Joseph Miller, a member of Captain Moseley Baker's Company. On page 40 of the Land Office Rolls Jas. Miller, probably intended for Jos. Miller, is shown as a member of Captain Alfred H. Wyly's Company. Mr. Miller was probably transferred from Captain Baker's Company to the smaller organization.

It is probable that Mr. Miller left Texas shortly after his term of enlistment had expired. He did not apply for either a headright or a Donation Certificate. On December 2, 1836, he sold his rights to the bounty land he was entitled to receive to Mr. B. Lamar and Stephen F. Everitt. Bounty Certificate No. 9884 was issued in his name November 25, 1841 for 960 acres of land for his services in the army from March 2 to December 2, 1836.
