HUESER, JOHN A. -- Arrived in Texas some time between May 2, 1835 and March 2, 1836. In the Headright Certificate issued to him January 25, 1838 for _____ of land by the Board of Land Commissioners for Brazoria County it is stated that he arrived before March 2, 1836. Had he arrived before May 2, 1835, it would have been so stated in the certificate.

Mr. Hueser's name is not shown on the San Jacinto rolls printed in 1836 but on page 40 of the army rolls in the General Land Office there is an affidavit signed May 16, 1836 by Adjutant General John A. Wharton in which he states that Mr. Hueser was Second Lieutenant at San Jacinto of Captain Alfred H. Wyley's Company.
On March 31, 1851 Mr. Hueser received Donation Certificate No. 263 for 640 acres of land for his San Jacinto services. On March 8, 1838, he was issued Bounty Certificate No. 2336 for 640 acres of land for having served in the army from April 1 to October 9, 1836.
The Deed Records of Brazoria County show Mr. Hueser and his wife Sophia living in that county as late as October 5, 1844. Mr. Hueser was living in New Orleans April 25, 1851, when he sold his Donation Certificate to Samuel J. Taylor for $160.00.
