EDWARDS, ISIAH -- Shown on a muster roll at the Land Office as having enlisted in Captain Hayden Arnold's Company March 6, 1836. Although he served as Second Lieutenant of Captain Arnold's Company at San Jacinto but little has been learned concerning him. The Land Office does not disclose that he applied for either Headright, Bounty or Donation Certificate. The Deed Records of Nacogdoches County, Book B, page 85, show that on January 20, 1836 he sold his rights to his Headright Certificate for one third of a league of land he was entitled to receive to James C. Thompson.

In Service Record No. 3520 Captain William H. Smith is shown to have issued a certificate on the Government, April 29, 1836 to John W. Carpenter for $25.00 for a gun lost by Mr. Carpenter in the battle of San Jacinto. Mr. Carpenter sold the certificate to Albert C. Manuel. Isiah Edwards witnessed the deed of transfer.
