DIXON, JAMES W. -- Listed on page 11 of the San Jacinto rolls printed in 1836 and on page 30 of the army rolls in the General Land Office as J. H. T. Dixon. On Page 221 of the rolls, however, on a revised roll of Captain Richard Roman's Company the name appears as James W. Dixon. Most of the men of Captain Roman's Company were recruited in New Orleans by Captain Amasa Turner and arrived at Velasco January 28, 1836 on the schooner Pennsylvania but it is not known that Mr. Dixon was one of them. His name is not shown on page 27 of the army rolls as a member of Captain John Hart's Company at Velasco, January 30, 1836. Captain Roman succeeded Captain Hart in command of the company.
