DARR, GEORGE -- On applying for land in Robertson's Colony, January 30, 1836 Mr. Darr stated that he was 29 years of age and had arrived in Texas in 1829. He did not secure the land. In the Headright Certificate issued to him for a league and labor of land February 8, 1838 by the Board of land Commissioners for Washington County it is stated that he came to Texas in 1830.

Mr. Darr was issued Donation Certificate No. 1007, January 28, 184O for 640 acres of Land for having participated in the storming and capture of Bexar, December 5 to 10, 1835. He was a member of Captain Henry Teal's Company of Regulars at San Jacinto. On page 143 of the army rolls in the General Land Office he is listed as a member of Captain Teal's Company August 31, 1836 and is shown as having enlisted in the army January 14, 1836. On page 149 he is shown as a member of Captain Jacob Snively's Company October 31, 1836. On August 15, 1849 he received Bounty Certificate No. 537 for 1280 acres of land for having served in the army from January 14, 1836 to May 18, 1837. The land was surveyed in Burleson County.

The Probate Records of Burleson County show that Mr. Darr died in that county in 1858, survived by his widow, Mrs. Kitty Ann Darr, and the following minor children: Eliza Jane, Sarah, Hiram, and George S. Darr.
