CRITTENDEN, ROBERT -- Arrived in Texas in December, 1835, as is stated in the Headright Certificate issued to him April 25, 1838, for one-third of a league of land by the Harrisburg County Board. He gave Harrisburg County as his home April 26, 1838 when he sold the certificate to Thomas H. Moore. Bounty Certificate No. 2468 for 320 acres of land was issued in his name in 1838 for having served in the army from March 16 to June 16, 1836. The rights of the certificate had previously been assigned to G. C. Hatch.

Mr. Crittenden was a member of Captain William S. Fisher's Company at San Jacinto but he did not apply for a Donation Certificate for 640 acres of land for having participated in the battle. He evidently left Texas shortly after the revolution and had no use of a Donation Certificate since it could not, legally, be sold or transferred.
