HAGGARD, HENRY H. - The name W. H. Haggard appears on page 232 of the army rolls in the General Land Office as having served for a time in Captain William H. Patton’s Company after the battle of San Jacinto. Following the name is the notation: “Detailed by order of the Genl. and left at the upper camp opposite Harrisburg to guard the baggage & sick.” The soldier was probably Henry H. Haggard who was issued Bounty Certificate No. 3936 for 320 acres of land June 25, 1838 for having served in the army from March 23 to July 26, 1836.
